About the event

Moonshot Initiative (formerly Women's Weekend Film Challenge) is hosting our third annual Pilot Accelerator to boost the representation of women and non-binary people in TV!

Applications are now open, and this live virtual Q&A is your chance to get all of your questions answered. Plus, you'll walk away with an exclusive submission fee discount and all attendees will automatically be entered in a raffle for a 2TB ArmorATD courtesy of Western Digital!

About the Moonshot Pilot Accelerator:

The goal of this program is to launch the careers of our fellows,  which could take the form of selling their TV pilot; securing follow-up meetings with executives; getting hired as a freelance writer, staff writer or writing support staff on an existing series; and/or making valuable industry contacts. This program aims to increase the representation of women and non-binary people on screen and in writers' rooms.

Through the Moonshot Pilot Accelerator, we read hundreds of applications to select 6 to 8 fellows with strong, completed pilots that center the stories of women and non-binary people.

Semi-finalists' scripts will be read by a panel of prestigious judges  — showrunners, TV series creators and co-EPs of major shows. In the past, multiple judges have requested meetings with a semi-finalist after reading their script.

The 6-8 chosen fellows will attend a free, virtual, three-week intensive training program on pitching and polishing their pilots. Then, the fellows will have the opportunity to pitch to major studios, production companies and producers (all of which will be announced in our newsletter and social media, so stay tuned)!

Last year’s program was a great success: We set up a total of 60 meetings for our fellows with HBO, Netflix, Warner Bros., Hulu, Showtime, Blumhouse, and many more! 85% of those meetings ended with a request to hear the full script. Several execs told us how impressed they were with the fellows and their pitches, saying they were better prepared than many of the meetings they typically take.

Why attend the live virtual Q&A?

If you're considering applying for this program and have questions that aren't answered on our website or FilmFreeway page, make sure to attend this event. Plus, there will be an application submission fee discount for all who attend this event.
